In early May, Doug and I went down to Homer to spend a few days with Tom during his "Ride the Tide" class. There were thirteen people this year, more than I've ever seen out there. We worked on skills, a few rescue refreshers and during the strong tide in the lagoon, practiced some rescues and towing in strong current. A good time was had, but the cost of gas has made everything more costly. The ride down to homer (200 miles or so), the water taxi across the K-Bay and back. Wow. We'll see how this affects future trips.
